David Carter

Dr David Carter, born in London in 1945, is a writer, translator and freelance journalist, and currently Professor of Communicative English at Yonsei University, Seoul. He has also taught at the universities of St Andrews and Southampton, in the UK, and has published on German and French literature, psychoanalysis, aesthetics, film history, drama and applied linguistics. His most recent books include Georges Simenon (2003), Literary Theory (2006) and East Asian Cinema (2007). He has translated Georges Simenon’s Three Crimes (2006) and Honoré de Balzac’s Sarrasine (2007) for Hesperus Press.
